The Browns have decided on a starting QB: Although the Browns haven't officially announced who their starting quarterback will be, first-year coach Eric Mangini decided not to play Brady Quinn or Derek Anderson in the preseason finale. By sitting both of the players who are vying for the job, Mangini evidently has seen enough to make his decision. Quinn, who had two preseason starts, completed 21 of 31 passes for 225 yards and one touchdown and one interception, and Anderson, who started once, finished 15 of 26 for 207 yards with two interceptions.
The Bears' secondary is on the mend but not totally healthy: The Bears have struggled with injuries in the defensive backfield all preseason. While Charles Tillman sat out his fourth consecutive game as he recovers from back surgery, Zack Bowman and Danieal Manning saw their first action coming off hamstring injuries. Bowman, a second-year pro, picked off Brett Ratliff's first pass of the game. Veteran CB Rod Hood, who signed with Chicago earlier in the week, saw his first action with the team. It remains unclear if Tillman will be healthy enough to play in the regular-season opener or how the depth chart in the secondary will play out.
