NFL.com held its experts league auction mock draft of the year on July 26. The standard scoring league consists of NFL Fantasy LIVE members Michael Fabiano, Elliot Harrison, Jason Smith, Akbar Gbajabiamila, Molly Qerim and Dave Dameshek. Also in the league are NFL.com fantasy editor Marcas Grant, associate fantasy editor John Juhasz, researcher Bill Sudell and fantasy product manager Evan Singer. Each owner was required to put together a lineup of one quarterback, two running backs, two wide receivers, one flex (RB/WR/TE), one tight end, one kicker and one defense/special teams unit.

What was your draft strategy?
Because there are so many viable options at QB and WR this season, there's no reason to overspend to fill either position. Instead, I decided to direct my loot at the RB position, where there aren't even 10 top-tier guys.
Did your draft strategy work?
I spent $63 on Arian Foster & $57 on Marshawn Lynch -- or 60 percent of my total budget. That may seem like a ton, but my starting backfield features two of the top five projected RBs. That'll be a huge advantage in every week-to-week matchup.
What was your favorite pick(s)
After my spending spree on those RBs, I had to find some bargains elsewhere, and I did: TE Kyle Rudolph, who stands a great chance at being a top five at a position with a lot of questions this season, was a steal for $3.
What was your worst pick(s)?
The good news is, I got Eli Manning, Jay Cutler & Alex Smith for a grand total of $4. The bad news is, none is guaranteed to be a top-12 QB. (I'm reasonably confident, though, that at least one of them will be.)
Who drafted the best team?
Assuming one of my QBs is merely adequate in terms of fantasy production, I did!
