Quick Take: Young leads Titans over Bills

It was over when
Vince Young left the field. In the first two quarters, the Titans quarterback completed 13-of-19 passes for 162 yards. He threw one touchdown to Bo Scaife with 34 seconds remaining in the first half, and scrambled under pressure for another touchdown one play after a wide-open Scaife dropped his pass in the end zone. The Titans' offensive line also kept him upright for every snap he took in the first half.

Game balls
Before the game, Titans coach Jeff Fisher said he wanted to stop the run. The Titans' defense followed his game plan. Until the third quarter, Losman was the Bills' second-leading rusher on one carry of 10 yards. Fisher's team, meanwhile, picked up 127 yards on the ground, led by LenDale White, who carried the ball 11 times for 51 yards. The bright spot for Buffalo: Receivers Lee Evans, Peerless Price and Roscoe Parrish combined for 204 yards on 10 catches. Parrish even returned a punt for a touchdown that was nullified by an illegal block penalty.

Key stat
J.P. Losman went 9-of-20 for 180 yards in one half of work. He threw a beautiful 64-yard touchdown pass to Lee Evans, but he was intercepted once and threw a few balls that were dangerously close to being picked-off.

Noteworthy
The Titans' rookie running back Chris Henry suffered a strained hamstring in the first quarter... Penalties were a factor for both teams: The Titans were penalized 10 times for 75 yards, while the Bills were flagged 6 times for 55 yards.
