Quick Take: Cowboys vs. Chargers

Keep your eye on ...

1. Cowboys receivers: The Cowboys have only a pair of reliable receivers, Terrell Owens and Patrick Crayton. The Cowboys will look for somebody among the crowd of Sam Hurd, Miles Austin, and Isaiah Stanback to take control of the No. 3 receiver spot.

2. Cowboys running back Felix Jones: Jones is an elusive, big-play back who figures to make an immediate contribution for the Cowboys. The first-round pick from Arkansas is expected to take over Julius Jones' role in the Cowboys offense, giving the Cowboys a 1-2 punch with Marion Barber.

3. Chargers running back Jacob Hester: The Chargers moved up in the third round to select Hester and he -- not Darren Sproles -- is expected to back up LaDainian Tomlinson this season. Hester can play a variety of different roles for the Chargers, so look for him to be lined up in different spots against the Cowboys.

4. Safety Eric Weddle: The Chargers moved up to take Weddle in the second round of the 2007 NFL Draft, and some felt that the team gave up too much. Weddle has now moved to the top of the depth chart after the release of Marlon McCree and will start opposite Clinton Hart at free safety.
