Notable injuries, news from Sunday's Week 4 games

Injuries and news we're monitoring around the league on this Week 4 Sunday:

  • Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler (hamstring) was carted into the locker room against the Buccaneers in the first quarter. He never returned to the game. Bolts coach Anthony Lynn said after the game the injury "looked pretty bad," but had no further update on Ekeler's status.
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end O.J. Howard suffered an Achilles injury and was ruled out. Bucs coach Bruce Arians said after the game that the team fears the injury will end Howard's season. Running back LeSean McCoy was ruled out with an ankle injury. Running back Kenjon Barner was ruled out with a concussion.
  • Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb was ruled out against the Cowboys after suffering a knee injury. Defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi (abdominal) was also ruled out.
  • Washington Football Team cornerback Greg Stroman left their loss to the Ravens with a foot injury.
  • Dallas Cowboys center Joe Looney suffered a knee injury against the Browns.
  • Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback C.J. Henderson suffered a shoulder injury and was ruled out against the Bengals. Linebacker Myles Jack was ruled out after suffering an ankle injury. Tight end Tyler Eifert suffered a concussion. Left tackle Cam Robinson suffered a knee injury. Cornerback D.J. Hayden was ruled out with a hamstring injury.
  • Carolina Panthers cornerback Eli Apple was out against the Cardinals with a hamstring injury.
  • Houston Texans tight end Jordan Akins was ruled out with a concussion after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit from Minnesota Vikings safety Harrison Smith, who was ejected on the play.
  • New Orleans Saints offensive tackle Ryan Ramczyk was ruled out against the Lions with a concussion.
  • Buffalo Bills cornerback Levi Wallacewas ruled out after suffering a left ankle injury in the first half vs. the Raiders. Bills quarterback Josh Allen came down hard on his left arm during Sunday's game and briefly exited to have it looked at. Allen returned and after the game said it "shouldn't inhibit anything," per NFL Network's Omar Ruiz.
  • Las Vegas Raiders defensive back Lamarcus Joyner is questionable to return with a rib injury. Defensive tackle Maliek Collins (shoulder) is questionable.
  • Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard did not return against the Bears after sustaining a groin injury.
  • Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson left Sunday night's game with an ankle injury, but returned to play. Safety Rudy Ford (hamstring) and linebacker T.J. Edwards (hamstring) each did not return.
  • San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Ezekiel Ansah might have suffered a significant arm injury Sunday night. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reports Anshah, who recently signed with the Niners following multiple injuries along the defensive line, is feared to have suffered a torn biceps. Ansah will undergo an MRI exam to confirm the severity of the injury. Cornerback K'Wuan Williams left the field with an apparent leg injury. Quarterback C.J. Beathard replaced second-stringer Nick Mullens after the latter threw a pick-six, which was his third turnover of the game.
