NFL, players' union meet to try to revive talks on HGH testing

The NFL and NFL Players Association have been at odds over HGH testing for more than two years since it was agreed upon in the collective bargaining agreement.

The stalemate over implementation of the testing reached a crescendo last month when the NFLPA said it would not agree to any deal that included NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in the appeals process. In turn, the NFL said appeals certainly were under Goodell's jurisdiction.

NFL Media's Albert Breer reported Thursday on NFL.com that the sides met again last week in an attempt to revive implementation talks.

Breer did not say if the sides have made progress, but it is expected that talks will continue. HGH testing had been planned to start during the preseason for a population study, but that negotiating point has changed with the regular season starting.
