NFL Media combined to win five 2010 Sports Emmy Awards, it was announced Monday night in New York.
NFL Films, the most-honored filmmaker in sports, earned a share of all five awards to increase its total to 105 Sports Emmys. The five Emmys rank as the most for NFL Films since the 1996-97 awards (also five).
"Writing, painting, music -- those are solitary endeavors," said NFL Films president Steve Sabol. "But great television only happens through collaboration. That's why everyone at NFL Films is proud to share these Emmys with our friends at HBO and our partners at NFL Network."
The critically acclaimed Hard Knocks series, which airs on HBO, won three Sports Emmys including its second consecutive Emmy in the Outstanding Edited Sports Series/Anthology category. The three Emmys are the most for one season of Hard Knocks.
"Lombardi", which NFL Films co-produced with HBO, was honored as Outstanding Sports Documentary.
NFL Network has won eight Sports Emmys in its seven-year history.
