Giants shut out listless Buccaneers

It was over when ...
New York WR Sinorice Moss caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from Eli Manning early in the fourth quarter to put the Giants up 17-0. Given Tampa Bay's offensive ineptitude throughout the first three quarters, there was no reason to believe the Bucs could mount a comeback.

Game ball
The Giants offensive line completely dominated the line of scrimmage. Manning was not sacked and consistently had plenty of time to throw. The running backs also had huge holes to run through, compiling 226 rushing yards on 49 carries.

Key stat
In perhaps the best illustration of just how lopsided this game was, the Giants had 28 first downs, compared to just five by the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay did not get its first first down until five minutes remained in the third quarter.

Noteworthy
The Buccaneers were outgained in total yards: 397-86. ... Both starting quarterbacks were removed with the game out of hand in the fourth quarter. Josh Johnson replaced Byron Leftwich for the Bucs and David Carr replaced Manning for the Giants. ... New York RB Ahmad Bradshaw had his second career 100-yard rushing day.
