Dolphins sign CBs Mike Hilton, Jack Jones as injuries hit secondary in training camp

The Miami Dolphins' secondary has added two veteran pieces amid a slew of injuries at the position early in training camp.

Miami signed veteran cornerback Mike Hilton to help bolster the unit, NFL Network's Cam Wolfe reported on Saturday. The Dolphins announced earlier in the day that they had signed cornerback Jack Jones.

The Dolphins saw Artie Burns suffer a torn ACL this week after releasing Kendall Fuller and trading Jalen Ramsey earlier this offseason.

Saturday's camp practice had two more defensive backs suffer apparent injuries. Kader Kohou, Miami's top cornerback, appeared to suffer a leg injury during one-on-one drills. Then undrafted cornerback BJ Adams was carted off the field after suffering an injury during team drills, per ESPN.

Hilton, 31, spent the past four seasons with the Bengals after playing his first four NFL campaigns with the Steelers. Primarily a slot corner, Hilton started 10 of his 16 games last season, making one interception, five passes defended and 73 tackles.

Jones, 27, started 16 games last season for the Raiders, recording three interceptions, 16 passes defensed and one touchdown.
