Chargers WR Chambers doubtful after not practicing all week

SAN DIEGO -- Chargers wide receiver Chris Chambers was listed as doubtful because of a sprained left ankle and may miss Sunday night's game against the New England Patriots.

Chambers sprained his ankle during last Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins and didn't practice this week. He was unsure if he would test the ankle during warmups on Sunday.

However, he wasn't ready to say he'd miss the game.

"Actually, I'm still just taking it one day at a time," Chambers said. "I feel better than I did yesterday."

Coach Norv Turner said Chambers' availability would be a game-time decision.

Outside linebacker Jyles Tucker also was listed as doubtful and said he would test his injured hamstring before Sunday's game.

"That's the plan right now, to try to go out there and see what we can do," Tucker said. "If I can go, then I'll go. If not, I'll sit down one more week and be ready for Buffalo."

Running back LaDainian Tomlinson (toe) was one of four players listed as probable. The others are cornerback Antonio Cromartie (hip), receiver Vincent Jackson (knee) and fullback Mike Tolbert (ankle).
