Amukamara on JPP: I've never seen a hand like that

The NFL locker room is a delicate social structure, so when a star player shows up after much speculation missing a finger, what is the delicate way to satisfy one's curiosity?

Leave it to cornerback Prince Amukamara, quickly becoming one of the funniest players in the NFL, to sort it all out for us.

"Of course," Amukamara said Wednesday when asked by the Daily News if he looked. "If you hear something like that, you're always trying to peek. You don't want to say, 'show me,' or anything like that. I definitely tried to peek. I just try to be nosy."

He added: "Just never seen anything like that. I've never seen a hand like that before."

While that is hard to believe, it does put a lighter touch on what has been an extremely difficult road for Jason Pierre-Paul. Say what you will about how the accident happened in the first place, but there are plenty of players who could take their money and hang it up. Pierre-Paul amputated a finger to get back on the field faster.

His teammates can look all they want, but they'll be looking at a player who is working relentlessly to come back from an injury that not everyone can come back from.
