Adam Vinatieri gets drug tested day after 53-yard FG

Adam Vinatieri set a Colts team record on Sunday when he drilled a 53-yard field during a Wild Card playoff win over the Bengals.

Less than 24 hours later, the 42-year-old Canton candidate received a notice that he'd been "randomly selected by the NFL drug testing program's Medical Advisor to complete a urine doping test."

Colts teammate Pat McAfee posted the notice with his own theory on the timing of the test.

Well played. Vinatieri, by the way, is having one of the best seasons of his 19-(not a typo)-year career. After a 4-for-4 day against the Bengals, Vinatieri is 34 of 35 on field-goal attempts this season.

We presume his 53-yard bomb was less about PEDs and more about good old-fashioned dad strength.
