Aaron Rodgers hopes Brett Favre gets good reception

While the Brett Favre/Aaron Rodgers relationship didn't get off to the smoothest of starts, Rodgers knows that Favre helped him become the quarterback he is today.

"He brought a lot of great energy and enthusiasm to practice," Rodgers said in an interview that will air on NFL Network's NFL Total Access on Friday. "And to the locker room and that's kind of an underappreciated part of leadership and being a quarterback I think."

Rodgers, who has become the consummate field general, obviously took some cues from Favre and seems pleased that the franchise legend will finally be inducted into the Packers' Hall of Fame this weekend. The franchise's luck with quarterbacks over the years has been undeniable, but so has the fan reception.

In that light, Rodgers can appreciate the fact that Favre and the organization have made amends after some rocky years immediately following Rodgers' takeover.

"I feel like things have definitely warmed up over the few years," he said. "I hope he gets the reception he deserves. I'm sure he will."

NFL Network will have complete coverage of the Favre ceremony, starting Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.
