Aaron Jones Sr., Running Back
Aaron Jones, Sr., honors current and former U.S. Military servicemembers, including his late father, Alvin Jones, Sr., who served 29 years in the U.S. Army and mother, Vurgess, who served 27 years, both of whom retired as sergeant majors; as well as his older brother, Xavier, who serves in the U.S. Air Force. Through Aaron's A&A All the Way Foundation (founded in 2020 by Aaron and his twin brother, Alvin, Jr.), the nonprofit emphasizes the support of youth in military families. Aaron's commitment to the military community connects families and young people who have experienced the difficulties of deployment, regular change and relocation, and the uncertainties that often accompany military life. This August, Aaron and his foundation teamed up with the Vikings and the United Heroes League (UHL) to host an event focused on supporting students of 500 military families and providing them with classroom supplies and brand-new shoes, as well as the opportunity to connect with Aaron and his family. A&A All the Way Foundation is teaming up with the Vikings to donate funding to complete a turf field at the UHL outdoor facility. The new field will be home to camps and clinics for military youth, as well as local girls flag games. Aaron calls on his own childhood experience, when his parents were deployed to Iraq and he saw firsthand the sacrifices made to serve one's country and the importance to deepen that connection with parents and their children. Aaron is hosting a different U.S. military family at every Vikings home and road game that also includes a personal visit from Aaron. Aaron has participated in Huddle for Heroes events, penned letters to active-duty military members; spent time with Blue Star families; and participated in meet-and-greets for T.A.P.S. families who have lost loved ones from the military community. Earlier this year, Aaron was announced as an official USO Ambassador to support USO's mission to support the well-being of American military service members.
