Woody Marks, Running Back
Houston Texans running back Woody Marks has demonstrated a commitment to supporting service members, first responders and their families, inspired by his personal connection to the military community. Growing up with an uncle who served in the military, Marks developed an appreciation for the unique challenges military families face, including frequent relocations, extended deployments and the sacrifices associated with military service. In July 2026, Marks hosted a free, two-day football camp for military children at Fort Hood in Central Texas. The camp brought children from military families together for an opportunity to build friendships, create lasting memories and connect with others who understand their experiences. Marks hopes to establish the camp as an annual tradition, providing continued opportunities for military children to come together through football. Marks has also supported the Texans' Salute to Service Showdown, serving as a guest coach during a competitive flag football game featuring teams representing different branches of the military and first responders. His participation provided an opportunity to engage directly with those who serve while celebrating the teamwork, camaraderie and dedication shared by the military and football communities. Marks' commitment to giving back reflects his belief that making a positive impact extends beyond accomplishments on the field. As he has shared, "Football is football, but being a better person is what you want to be." Through his football camp and participation in team initiatives, Marks continues to create meaningful experiences for military families, recognize those who serve and strengthen connections between the Texans and the military and first responder communities.
