Jim Harbaugh, Head Coach
Chargers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh has made honoring, supporting, and uniting with our nation's heroes a cornerstone of his leadership. Since stepping into the role in 2024, Harbaugh has transformed that commitment into meaningful action welcoming TAPS families to practices, hosting Gold Star families at games, and bringing the team directly to military bases and naval carriers.
In his first year, Harbaugh led the Chargers' minicamp to Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, where more than 5,000 service members and their families attended a team walk-through and meet-and-greet. Prior to practice, over 100 military children took part in an NFL Play60 event, engaging in passing, running, and conditioning drills.
Just weeks later, Harbaugh—joined by quarterback Justin Herbert, safety Derwin James Jr., and Executive Director of Player Performance Ben Herbert—visited the Navy SEALs' Silver Strand Training Complex in Coronado, California. While there, Harbaugh addressed the SEALs and toured the facility, further deepening the team's connection with the military community.
