Reid Ferguson 2023 16x9

REID FERGUSON, LONG SNAPPER

Each season, Reid dedicates his time off the field to honoring the military community. On April 15, Reid and Coach Smiley accompanied 49 WNY veterans to Washington, D.C. on the 2023 Buffalo-Niagara Honor Flight. Reid connected with Honor Flight veterans and visited national war memorials. Both of Reid's grandfathers, great uncle, and great grandfather all served in the armed forces. During the Honor Flight, Reid said, "The sacrifice and what they gave to our country to be free and do what we do on a daily basis, sometimes that's taken for granted. I think today I can take a step back, and come here and visit these memorials, and listen to their stories from throughout the years." This upcoming Veteran's Day, Reid will host his third annual Meet and Greet Happy Hour and Lunch event. The "Thank a Vet BBQ" benefits the Veterans One-Stop Center of WNY and provides local vets with lunch and drinks, courtesy of Reid. During last season's Salute to Service initiative, Reid, his wife Erica and daughter Blakely visited the SPCA of Erie County to promote the Vets & Pets program and spend time with the SPCA's Veteran volunteers.  In April of 2021, Reid launched Grills Mafia, an apparel line of BBQ x Bills Mafia t-shirts in which proceeds are donated to Western New York food-based and veteran charities. For the 2022 My Cause, My Cleats initiative, Reid wore custom cleats in honor of the Veterans One-Stop Center of WNY.
