Jags DE Josh Allen (knee) likely to miss minicamp

The Jacksonville Jaguars appear on track to hold the mandatory three-day minicamp on June 11-13 without their first-round pick.

Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone told reporters Thursday that rookie pass rusher Josh Allen, who has missed a lot of the team's organized team activities with a knee bruise, isn't likely to participate in the minicamp.

"I'll probably just as safety hold him until he's ready for camp," Marrone said, via the Jaguars' official website. "Technically he could be ready to go next week."

Allen, the seventh overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, began working with trainers off to the side early in OTAs.

The good news given Marrone's tone signals the issue is minor, but the Jaguars prefer to continue erring on the side of caution to prevent further injury this far out from the start of the regular season.
