Gerald McCoy visiting Panthers after Ravens meeting

After Gerald McCoy's tour through the AFC North, the free-agent defensive tackle remains without a team.

The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers All-Pro left the Baltimore Ravens following the conclusion of his visit Wednesday without a deal, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source.

McCoy visited the Cleveland Browns last week and is also drawing interest from the Cincinnati Bengals and Carolina Panthers.

Rapoport reported Wednesday that McCoy was attempting to start a bidding war between the Browns and Ravens for his services. But the compensation was not what he wanted -- more than the $10 million that Ndamukong Suh received in Tampa Bay -- so McCoy is taking a third visit to Carolina, Rapoport added.

McCoy's Panthers visit will begin Thursday night and go into Friday after which he'll make a decision, Rapoport reported.

The defensive tackle was released by the Buccaneers last week after nine seasons with the club. McCoy was owed $13 million in 2019.

So now we play the waiting game, as the six-time Pro Bowler sorts out his options, and potentially the fate of the AFC North.
