Dak Prescott likes Kanye, but not as much as sleep

Would you like to go to a Kanye West concert?

You probably do! Unless you really don't, which is definitely possible when talking about an artist as polarizing as Mr. West. But if you're a fan of Kanye, whether it's his old polo and backpack stuff or current post-Messiah output, you're probably not turning down free tickets to the man's show.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is a fan, so you could imagine his temptation when a company Prescott endorses offered him two seats just to the left of the stage at the American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas.

But Prescott was aware of, let's borrow some boardroom jargon here, the optics at play. The concert was on Thursday, a school night in the NFL, and if West took the stage after 9 p.m. that would mean he wouldn't get home until after midnight. This would be a potential bad look in the company of 18,000 other hip hop fans.

So, Prescott instead made the decision to spend the night on his couch instead, watching the Texans-Patriots and Clemson-Georgia Tech tilts with a buddy.

"I wanted to go a little bit," Prescott said of the concert, according to Sports Illustrated's Pete Thamel. "But I just think about the perception of it all. And I love my sleep."

Once upon a time, Tony Romo caught a ton of unnecessary flak from fans and the media for his golfing habit. The spotlight just shines a little bit brighter on QB1 in Dallas. As we've seen on the field this season, Prescott is a fast learner.
