Maligned early in free agency for the flow of players out of the building, the Cleveland Browns' brass put a win on the board Wednesday.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Cleveland signed former New York Jets inside linebacker Demario Davis to a two-year deal worth $8 million with $4 million guaranteed, per a source involved in the deal.
The Browns later announced the signing. Cleveland also released Karlos Dansby to free up a roster spot for Davis.
Davis started 16 games in 2015, compiling 90 tackles, two sacks and two passes defensed. In four years in New York, Davis earned 349 tackles, 6.5 sacks and eight passes defensed in 51 starts.
The 27 year old saw his snaps and play fall off last season -- especially in pass coverage -- after a solid 2014 season. The Browns hope he returns to form in 2016.

- Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kyle Williams took a $1.75 million pay cut to stay with the Bills, according to ESPN. Williams missed the final 10 games of 2015 because of a knee injury.
- The Raiders will re-sign left tackle Donald Penn to a two-year deal worth $14 million, Rapoport reported. The first year contains roughly $7 million guaranteed.
- The Jets have finalized their deal with defensive lineman Jarvis Jenkins, reported Rapoport, per his agents at SportsTrust. It's a two-year deal worth $7 million with $3 million guaranteed, a source involved told Rapoport.
New York also added former Steelers defensive tackle Steve McLendon to a multi-year contract. McLendon's three-year deal will be worth up to $12 million, with $4 million guaranteed, Rapoport reported, per McLendon's agent.
- The Titansannounced they have agreed to a deal with former Pittsburgh linebacker Sean Spence. Rapoport reported the deal is worth $2.5 million for one season.
- Cleveland cut receiver Dwayne Bowe after a forgettable 2015 season that saw Bowe catch just five passes.
- The Eagles and wideout Chris Givens have agreed to terms on a one-year contract, the team announced.
- Linebacker Quinton Copleshas agreed to a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams, Rapoport reported via a source involved in the deal.
- The Bears have signed long snapper Aaron Brewer to a one-year deal. Brewer served as the Denver Broncos' long snapper the last four seasons.
- The Ravenshave released safety Will Hill, the team announced. Hill is facing a 10-game suspension for violating the NFL substance abuse policy for the fourth time in his career, a source informed of his situation told Rapoport.
- Arizona found a replacement for the traded Jonathan Cooper by signing offensive linemanEvan Mathis to a one-year deal. NFL Media's Albert Breer reported the deal is worth $6 million.
- Running back Donald Brown has agreed to a one-year deal to stay with the New England Patriots, a source involved with the negotiations told Rapoport.
- The Oakland Raiders signed safety Brynden Trawick, the team announced.
- In addition to signingJunior Galette, the Redskins inked offensive lineman Josh LeRibeus to a deal, the team announced.
- Former Houston Texans safety Rahim Moore will sign with the Cleveland Browns, a source told Rapoport.
- Safety Antonio Allen signed with the Texans, the team announced.
