Broncos' Stewart should be 'good to go' for Super Bowl

The early word on Darian Stewart is positive news for Denver.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Broncos safety suffered a slight MCL sprain in Sunday's AFC title game win over the Patriots, per a source. Rapoport tweeted that Stewart should be "good to go" for Super Bowl 50.

Stewart played 46 snaps against New England and picked off Patriots quarterback Tom Brady before injuring his knee in the third quarter. The sixth-year backstop was replaced by Shiloh Keo in a physical contest that also saw Broncos safety T.J. Ward leave the tilt with a banged-up ankle.

Ward should be fine for the big game, while Stewart assured The Denver Post on Sunday: "Hell yeah, I will be ready for the Super Bowl."

Say what you will about Denver's up-and-down offense, but this Broncos defense demands attention. After subjecting Brady to a historical beating, the AFC champions boast the requisite pass rush and sticky coverage to challenge Carolina. Having two healthy safeties will help.
