Chris Harris expected to play for Broncos vs. Patriots

Pro Bowl cornerback Chris Harris' status is one of the major question marks leading up to Sunday's AFC Championship Game.

Denver Broncos general manager John Elway told ESPN that Harris will be a game-time decision with a severe bone bruise in his shoulder. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports, however, that Harris is expected to play even if the coaches aren't sure how many snaps he can handle.

Playing through the injury, Harris was liability versus the Steelers last week, leaving the field several times in pain.

After watching Harris practice on Wednesday, coach Gary Kubiak believes the arrow is starting to point up.

"I think he struggled the other day," Kubiak said Wednesday, in reference Harris' Divisional Round performance. "I think he felt more confident going into this week compared to last week."

The Broncos need Harris to play at a high level to counteract Patriots No. 1 receiver Julian Edelman, Tom Brady's jitterbug security blanket on quick-hitting routes.
