Dez Bryant limited in return to Dallas Cowboys practice

The Dallas Cowboys have their star wide receiver back.

Dez Bryant practiced today for the first time since Sept. 11. Bryant was limited in his return.

It's a tangible step toward game action for the veteran pass-catcher who hasn't played since breaking a bone in his right foot against the Giants in the season opener. Bryant wasn't a full participant in Wednesday's session, but hope remains that he can suit up Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.

Bryant has spent two-plus weeks engaging in on-field rehab and resistance training, while also receiving a stem cell injection in his foot to accelerate the healing process.

Jason Garrett wants to see Bryant practice fully before putting him into a game, while also giving the Pro Bowl receiver time to mesh with fill-in quarterback Matt Cassel.

Sitting at the bottom of the NFC East at 2-4, the Cowboys desperately need Bryant back on the field.

With quarterback Tony Romo also out of commission, the franchise's Super Bowl hopes are on life support. Getting Bryant back in the mix would go a long way toward saving the season in Big D.
