Bryan Bulaga (knee) has surgery, likely out six weeks

The Packers will be without right tackle Bryan Bulaga on Sunday night and for the next month.

Bulaga underwent surgery on Saturday to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Media's Albert Breer, via two sources informed of the situation. Bulaga also sprained his MCL and is likely to be out the next six weeks, Rapoport and Breer reported.

The Packers offensive tackle left practice earlier this week with the knee injury.

The team's official website listed Don Barclay, a 2012 undrafted free agent, as Bulaga's likely replacement. Barclay had 18 starts over the past four years, mostly at right guard.

This isn't the worst-case scenario for the Packers, who still have the league's best quarterback to negate any immediate issues with protection. His quick-trigger release, like Tom Brady and Peyton Manning's over the years, have solved a lot of problems.
