Linemen prospects stand out at Boston College's pro day

Representatives from 21 NFL teams, including three offensive line coaches, were present for Boston College's pro day on March 18, when 12 players worked out indoors on FieldTurf.

Center Andy Gallik (6-foot-2 1/2, 301 pounds) stood on his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine. Gallik has very good fundamentals and good technique, and that showed in his positional workout.

Offensive tackle Seth Betancourt (6-5, 308) ran the 40-yard dash in 5.4 and 5.45 seconds. He had a 26 1/2-inch vertical jump and 8-foot-2 broad jump. He did the 20-yard short shuttle in 4.87 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.97 seconds. Betancourt -- who has 34-inch arms -- performed 23 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press. Justin Frye is the offensive line coach at BC, and he does a good job teaching these players. Betancourt is a well-coached lineman.

Offensive guard Ian Silberman (6-5 1/8, 306) ran the 40 in 5.13 and 5.14 seconds. He had a 27 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-3 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.87 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.9 seconds. Silberman -- who has 32 1/2-inch arms -- performed 26 strength lifts. Silberman is a possible low-round selection in the 2015 NFL Draft or a priority free-agent pickup for a team following the draft.
