Report: Russell Wilson to attend MLB spring training

After suffering a devastating loss in Super Bowl XLIX, Russell Wilson will reportedly take his mind off football to shag some baseballs.

As he did last season, Wilson will attend the Texas Rangers' spring training, per FOX Sports Southwest. The Rangers selected the Seattle Seahawks quarterback in the minor-league portion of the 2013 Rule 5 draft.

A second baseman, Wilson has been drafted twice by MLB teams -- once by the Baltimore Orioles out of high school and then in 2010 by the Colorado Rockies after he attended college. Wilson last played minor league baseball in 2011. Last year, Wilson took some grounders during his brief one-day stint in spring training.

It's Wilson's leadership example, both in winning last season and how he handled the devastating loss on Sunday, which is the biggest asset to the Rangers organization.

Pitchers and catchers are set to report for Rangers camp on Feb. 20.
