Ranking every FBS team at midseason: Nos. 51-60

Print

51. Rutgers (5-1)

Buzz: The Scarlet Knights are one win from bowl eligibility. We have to admit we didn't see that coming.

52. Florida (3-2)

Buzz: Who's that on the computer, typing really fast? Why, that's Will Muschamp, getting his resume updated.

» CFB Hot Seat Watch: Muschamp on shaky ground

53. South Carolina (3-3)

Buzz: The Gamecocks' defense has been a sieve. How in the world did these guys beat Georgia?

54. Arkansas (3-3)

Buzz: The Hogs look to be the worst team in the SEC West. But it's all relative, and you wonder if they could finish first or second in the SEC East.

55. Tennessee (3-3)

Buzz: The Vols have wins over solid "mid-majors" Arkansas State and Utah State, but a loss to Florida hurts.

56. Utah State (4-2)

Buzz: For the second season in a row, star QB Chuckie Keeton has been lost to a torn ACL. To make matters worse, star LB Kyler Fackrell was lost to the same injury.

57. Texas (2-4)

Buzz: Charlie Strong's defense is a good one. Charlie Strong's offense? He should blame that on Mack Brown.

58. Nevada (3-3)

Buzz: The Wolf Pack beat Washington State and acquitted themselves well in losses to Arizona, Boise State, and Colorado State .

59. Air Force (4-2)

Buzz: Wins over Boise State and Navy highlighted the season's first half for the Falcons, who also should beat Army and claim the Commander-in-Chief Trophy.

60. Washington State (2-5)

Buzz: The Cougars have attempted 440 passes. That is 112 more than any other team (there are seven teams that have attempted fewer than 112 passes).
