Calvin Johnson routinely missed practices early in the week last season before suiting up on Sunday. It looks like that trend could continue this year.

The evolution of the NFL:
Take a look at how the NFL has evolved from its humble roots, and the efforts being made to ensure it continues to grow.

Megatron returned to practice Friday after missing the last two sessions with an ankle injury. He's listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets.

Tight end Joseph Fauria, who injured himself in an accident at home this week, was on crutches with his ankle injury and is out for Sunday. Coach Jim Caldwell was asked if he believed Fauria's story about the injury and didn't directly answer the question.

Here's what else you need to know about the injury report for Week 4:

2. Eagles center Jason Kelce (hernia) and linebacker Mychal Kendricks (calf) are out, as expected.

3. Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Harry Douglas (foot) is questionable, but Roddy White will get back on the field in Minnesota; he's probable.

4. Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis (hip) and Jonathan Stewart (knee) are both questionable, but Stewart sounds like a longshot to play after returning to practice Friday. Coach Ron Rivera sounded a lot more optimistic about Davis' chances.

5. The cog of the Chiefs' offense -- Jamaal Charles -- was limited Friday with a high ankle sprain. His status will be updated Saturday.

6. Listed as questionable, 49ers tight end Vernon Davis says he's unsure if he'll be able to play against Philadelphia.

7. New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker (hamstring) says he feels much better this week after returning to practice Friday. He couldn't finish the Jets' game on Monday night. Rex Ryan thinks he will play, though he is listed as questionable.

8. Niners safety Antoine Bethea (ankle) is listed as questionable and didn't practice Friday.

9. Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway will miss his first game in eight seasons -- he has a rib and hand injury.

10. Jets cornerback Dee Milliner (quad) is doubtful to play Sunday. He missed Monday night's game and also missed the season-opener with an ankle injury. Health has been an issue for the second-year player.

11. Rolando McClain (groin), Henry Melton (hamstring) and Anthony Spencer (knee) are among those listed as questionable for the Cowboys on Friday.

12. Redskins coach Jay Gruden said Trent Williams won't require an MRI on his right knee. The two-time Pro Bowl left tackle has patella inflammation but no instability in his knee after leaving Thursday's loss to the Giants, Gruden said on a conference call Friday.

13. Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews (groin) is probable despite being limited in practice all week. Wide receiver Jarrett Boykin's (knee and groin) status is questionable.

14. The Jaguars have ruled out wide receiver Marqise Lee (hamstring) for Sunday's game against the Chargers.

15. Chargers tight end Ladarius Green did not practice Friday as he deals with a hamstring injury and is questionable for Sunday. Rookie cornerback Jason Verrett is also questionable with a hamstring ailment.

16. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' defense could use Michael Johnson (ankle) back in the fold; however, the defensive end is questionable. He missed Weeks 2 and 3.

17. Kansas City running back Joe McKnight took two steps backwards Friday after taking a step forward with a solid outing Sunday against the Dolphins. McKnight ruptured his Achilles at practice

18. Texans coach Bill O'Brien said running back Arian Foster and punter Shane Lechler are both "definitely" game-time decisions, and their respective playing statuses will be determined by their condition on Sunday.

19. Bears defensive end Jared Allen (illness) and wide receiver Brandon Marshall (ankle) didn't practice Friday. They are both questionable for Sunday against the Packers.

20. The Titans' passing attack could be without quarterback Jake Locker (right wrist) and tight end Delanie Walker (shoulder) on Sunday, as both were listed as questionable and were limited during Friday's practice.

21. Patrick Robinson of the Saints has a hamstring injury and is questionable for the team's contest against the Cowboys.
