Cordarrelle Patterson takes part in camp walkthrough

No player on the Vikings is expected to make a bigger leap this season than Cordarrelle Patterson.

The hyper-athletic wide receiver got off to a slow start at Minnesota's training camp, though, spending Friday and Saturday sidelined with a reportedly "minor" foot injury.

He made strides Sunday with a "little bit of work" during a walkthrough, but the second-year wideout confirmed that he's battling pain after injuring his foot while "training" before camp. Patterson said he doesn't know when he'll return to full practice, per Andrew Krammer of KSTP-AM.

"He's improving every day," coach Mike Zimmer said Saturday, per the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "I saw him do some stuff (Saturday). ... I'll be surprised if it's long (that Patterson is out)."

Nagging injuries in late July don't merit much attention, but Patterson's setback bears watching because of how much he means to Norv Turner's passing attack.

After seeing what Minnesota's play-caller did with Josh Gordon in Cleveland last season, Around The League has comfortably predicted a 70-catch, 1,100-yard campaign for a wideout who Greg Jennings acknowledged will be heavily "showcased" come September.
