RGIII struggled mightily last season, but it wasn't just his speed that was sapped.Â
The Washington Redskins signal-caller also failed to display the same pinpoint accuracy that helped propel him to Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. The critics were out in full force, but a rejuvenated "Kid Rob" is out to prove them all wrong, and he's confident his surgically repaired knee is just one reason why he'll bounce back.
"You don't go from the ability to read defenses one year and not have that ability the next, so I don't believe that one bit," Griffin said Thursday. "And it's really just a good thing to have two coaches that believe in you. (Offensive coordinator) Sean (McVay) and Jay (Gruden) have done a great job.
"As a quarterback, you have to have that fire in your heart that says when things are going wrong that you're going to get it right."
DeAngelo Hall is amped up by what he's seen from the QB, and he believes RGIII's exuberance has spread to the defense.Â
"That's the main thing, he's healthy," Hall told NFL Media's Steve Wyche. "To have him go through an offseason being healthy, leading every sprint, it's just huge for him from a confidence level to know he can go out there and make every cut, do everything he needs to do with his lower body to position himself to make throws.
"Having a coach that's behind him, that wants him, that loves him, that goes a long way. He's juiced up about this season, he has a lot of weapons to throw the ball to. On defense, I don't think we gonna sit down when we come off the field, we gonna probably be on the sidelines too busy watching the game."
