It's not easy being Matt Schaub. He's thrown a pick six in an NFL record four consecutive games and just lost his security blanket.
The Houston Texans quarterback isn't likely to see Owen Daniels on the field for three to six weeks after the tight end suffered a non-displaced fibula fracture in Sunday night's loss to the San Francisco 49ers, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday. Daniels won't require surgery, according to a source informed of the injury.
It's a tough loss for the Texans, who rely heavily on Daniels in a play-action-heavy passing game.
Daniels is a two-time Pro Bowl selection, who was second on the team with 24 receptions on the season. Schaub doesn't have the same chemistry with tight ends Garrett Graham or Ryan Griffin.
We do like Graham's progress this season. He'll be asked to step up for a team that's lost three consecutive games and now stares up at the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans in the AFC South.
