Tim Tebow has a supporter in New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, who hopes the quarterback makes the team's 53-man roster. Unfortunately for Tebow, it's not up to Kraft.

That responsibility belongs to coach Bill Belichick.

"I'm rooting for him and I'm in his corner, but I have the privilege of letting Bill make those decisions," Kraft said Tuesday. "He's got a pretty good record."

Thursday night's preseason finale against the New York Giants looms large for Tebow's chances. Tebow survived Tuesday's cut to 75 players, but the Patriots must meet the 53-man roster limit by 6 p.m. ET on Saturday. After consecutive poor performances in the first two preseason games, Tebow didn't play a snap last weekend. He is, however, slated to see considerable playing time Thursday.

Ryan Mallett is entrenched in the backup spot behind Tom Brady, and the Patriots often keep just two quarterbacks. But Tebow told NFL.com's Albert Breer on Tuesday that he's not "worrying about" Thursday's game and its significance on his standing with the team.

Maybe Tebow should be.
