Saints' Joe Morgan: Torn ACL not Kenny Vaccaro's fault

New Orleans Saints rookie safety Kenny Vaccaro quickly became known for his aggressive practice style, setting a physical tone in his first training camp. (And nearly starting some fights.)

But Joe Morgan wants everyone to know that Vaccaro was not to blame for the torn ACL that ended the wide receiver's season early.

Vaccaro tackled Morgan from behind, but this doesn't sound like a case of Vaccaro being overaggressive.

"Sometimes you have those freak incidents where everything is kind of out of control. It just happened," Saints quarterback Drew Brees said, via The Times-Picayune.

Morgan's fellow wideout, Marques Colston, echoed the sentiment.

"You can't really fault a guy for practicing hard," Colston said.

Morgan has been notably positive about the ordeal on his Twitter account, already moving on to his recovery. The Saints were forced to move on during drills, putting rookie Kenny Stills in Morgan's spot.

Vaccaro, meanwhile, is carving out a role as a slot defender. His aggressive style of play is what the Saints need, and Morgan's injury looks like a case of bad luck.

We discussed Morgan's injury in Wednesday's Around the League Podcast. Listen.
