Manning family to be subject of "SEC Storied" documentary

HOOVER, Ala. -- Before Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning ever frazzled NFL defenses, they were stars in the Southeastern Conference.

And the television documentary series "SEC Storied" will take a long look at the Mannings with a film planned for debut this fall. SEC Commissioner Mike Slive mentioned the film in the midst of his remarks about the new SEC Network. While the SEC Network won't launch until the fall, the SEC Storied series is already airing on various ESPN platforms.

"The next film in the 'SEC Storied' series will be entitled 'The Book of Manning,'" Slive said. "It will tell the story of Archie and Olivia, Cooper, Eli and Peyton. We will premiere it this fall."

Peyton Manning starred at Tennessee from 1994-1997, and his UT jersey number was retired in 2005. Eli Manning followed his father Archie's collegiate path to Ole Miss, and threw for more than 10,000 career yards with the Rebels.

As for Slive's other comments on the SEC Network, this much was clear: NFL fans looking to get an early look at future stars certainly will be provided with all the Saturdays on the couch they can handle.

"On each Saturday in the fall, the SEC Network will televise three football games, our triple-header," Slive said. "In addition, the network will feature a signature, two-hour, on-site pre-game show. The show will broadcast live every Saturday from a different SEC campus over the course of the season, including our championship game."

Be sure to save enough chips and dip for Sundays.
