Randy Moss: San Francisco 49ers now 'Kaep's team'

NEW ORLEANS -- Everyone else has weighed in on the Alex Smith-Colin Kaepernick saga, so why not Randy Moss?

The San Francisco 49ers veteran receiver was in fine form again during Wednesday's media session, serenading reporters on a wide berth of topics with a touch of wit and poetry. Moss cut to the chase, however, on the topic of this season's quarterback switch.

Breer: The truth about a bold move

Colin Kaepernick over Alex Smith wasn't always a no-brainer. Albert Breer has the inside story behind a difficult decision. **More ...**

"I'm not saying it was the right decision or the wrong decision, but any time a guy can lead you to the Super Bowl, it has to be the right decision," said Moss, who went out of his way to credit Smith.

"Like I said, I'm not disrespectful or being disrespectful to Alex Smith, because he can still play this game, and this was once his team," Moss said. "You know, any guy wants to be able to go out there and make plays and help their team win, but like I said, now it's Kaep's team, and it's his goal to take us to the top."

Moss has played with a laundry list of household names under center. From Brett Favre to Tom Brady, he's seen it all. Kaepernick was the right decision -- it's hard to argue that -- but it took both Smith and Kaepernick to help the 49ers reach this point, a fact not lost on Moss or anyone else on this roster.
