Other fines confirmed Friday:
» Chicago Bears safety Chris Conte thought his $21,000 fine was a prank put on by his teammates, according to Bears radio network sideline reporter Zach Zaidman. The Bears did manage to edge out a 23-22 win against the Carolina Panthers.
» New York Giants defensive tackle Chris Canty was fined $15,750 for roughing the passer in his team's 29-24 win over the Dallas Cowboys. Canty led with the crown of his helmet when he struck Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
» In an AFC East rivalry match, the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets found themselves fined on both sides. Dolphins linebacker Marcus Dowtin was fined $15,750 for unnecessary roughness, while Jets offensive tackle Jonathan Martin was docked $10,000 for an illegal chip. The Dolphins got the last laugh with a 30-9 drubbing.
» Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen and offensive tackle Donald Penn's fracas on 'Thursday Night Football' in Week 8 drew the NFL's attention. Both players were fined $7,875 for grabbing an opponent by the facemask.
