New Cowboys Stadium to feature 'world's largest high-def TV'

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Fans in the upper deck of the Dallas Cowboys' new stadium won't have to worry about being so far from the action.

The Cowboys on Thursday unveiled what they're calling the world's largest high-definition TV: a 72-foot tall, 160-foot wide screen suspended over the field.

It extends from 20-yard line to 20-yard line in the $1.1 billion stadium and is 90 feet above the field -- high enough so no punts can hit it, owner Jerry Jones says.

The TV's so big it has a 10-level network of catwalks inside, and workers will be inside the board during games.

The giant screen is sure to light up the 80,000-seat Arlington stadium where the Cowboys are moving this fall. It has 30 million light bulbs.

Cowboys out of practice facility until August

The Cowboys won't return to their practice facility until after training camp and have no immediate plans to replace an indoor structure destroyed in a storm.

The May 2 accident at the team's complex in Irving left 12 people hurt. The roof came down in a thunderstorm during a rookie workout.

Owner Jerry Jones said Thursday the team is letting a federal investigation into the collapse of the tentlike structure "run its course." Jones said he's making plans to have the practice fields ready when the Cowboys return from San Antonio in August.

The Cowboys are now practicing at a high school stadium in nearby Carrollton.

WR Stanback has knee surgery

Cowboys receiver Isaiah Stanback has had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee to repair a torn lateral meniscus.

The Cowboys announced Stanback had the procedure Thursday. Further details were not released.

Stanback got hurt during Tuesday's workout, the first organized team activity of the offseason. He took the field Wednesday before the injury was revealed.

Stanback last season spent time on injured reserve. In August he separated his left shoulder returning a kickoff in a preseason victory over Houston.
