Missed point-after try vs. Bears is first for Bills kicker Lindell

TORONTO -- Buffalo Bills kicker Rian Lindell missed an extra-point attempt Sunday against the Chicago Bears, ending his string of successful PATs at 321 -- the fourth-longest streak in NFL history.

Lindell's attempt following Fred Jackson's 4-yard touchdown in the third quarter was blocked by the Bears' Israel Idonije, preventing the Bills from tying the score at 14. The lineman came through the middle of the line and knocked the kick down with his arm.

It was Lindell's first extra-point miss since he entered the league in 2001, the longest streak to start a career in NFL history.

Matt Stover has the record with 422 consecutive extra points from 1996 to 2009.
