Hall did not play football until his junior year in high school, as he focused on basketball until that point. He played in 12 games as a freshman reserve in 2015 (seven tackles) and 10 games as a backup the following season (20 tackles, two for loss). Hall flourished in his junior year with the Tigers, starting all 13 games at the Will linebacker spot and earneing the team's Outstanding Underclassman Leadership Award, while being credited with 85 tackles, 12.5 for loss, and three pass breakups. He started all 13 games again in 2018, pulling down 74 ballcarriers, nine for losses including five sacks, and intercepted a pass.

Overview
Physical WILL linebacker whose most consistent tape notes are "out of position" and "aggressive play demeanor". Hall plays with good play speed and toughness but lacks instincts and assignment discipline. While he flashes on tape, his lack of impact production might speak to his lack of desired instincts. He is a self-sufficient tackler with the athletic ability and upside, but he'll need to improve his football intelligence to become more than a short-term backup with plus special teams qualities.
Strengths
  • Admitted he was a "selfish" player early in his career but matured
  • Long arms and strong base for his size
  • Knee-bender with optimal pad level in approach
  • Aggressive to flow downhill and into the fit
  • Stiff shoulder to play under the block and leverage his gap
  • Plenty tough and displays violent streak as hitter
  • Will smack climbing blockers as hard as he hits runners
  • Runs well with ability to chase and capture in space
  • Possesses athletic ability for man coverage.
Weaknesses
  • Aggressive nature hinders play discipline
  • Plays out of position too often
  • Hard flow to the ball pulls him past backside responsibility
  • Suspect instincts to recognize play development and misdirection
  • Inconsistent to punch and separate vs
  • climbing blockers
  • Uncertainty leads to awkward change of direction in space
  • Almost no ball production in coverage
  • Needs to anticipate throws and squeeze receivers earlier
