Through the years: DeMarco Murray
After seven years of rushing through the NFL, DeMarco Murray has announced his retirement from football. The three-time Pro Bowler was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 2011, where he earned Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2014 after rushing for 1,845 yards. He eventually signed with Philadelphia where he played for one season (2015) and was eventually traded to Tennessee, where he spent the final two seasons of his career. During his four years as the feature back for the Oklahoma Sooners, DeMarco Murray averaged 4.86 yards per carry with 3,685 total rushing yards and 50 touchdowns.

An improved offensive line helped DeMarco Murray achieve career numbers, averaging 5.2 yards per carry and rushing for 1,121 total yards in 2013.

DeMarco Murray signed a five-year, $42 million contract with the Philadelphia Eagles on March 12, 2015. His performance within Chip Kelly's spread offense struggled. He totaled 702 yards for the 2016 season with only six touchdowns, less than half of his total production from the previous campaign.
Following a disappointing season with the Eagles, DeMarco Murray joined the Tennessee Titans. Murray enjoyed a resurgence, rushing for 1,287 yards for nine touchdowns.
