One of the few big-name free agents left on the market found a home Monday.
Linebacker Zach Brown agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $4.65 million with the Washington Redskins, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source informed of the situation. The deal has a base value of $2.3 million ($500,000 signing bonus, $1.55 million base salary, $250,000 per game roster bonuses, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported. The team later announced the signing.
Ranked No. 20 on Around The NFL's top 101 free agents list, Brown was one of the few playmaking inside linebackers available this offseason.
Brown is a needed addition to a Washington defense that struggled against the run for long stretches last season, allowing 119.8 yards per game on the ground.
