Youth movement: Raiders sign rookie LB O'Neill, release veteran LB Harris

OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Oakland Raiders have brought back linebacker Chris O'Neill and released linebacker Napoleon Harris.

The team announced the moves before Saturday's preseason game against the New Orleans Saints.

O'Neill signed with the Raiders as an undrafted tight end out of Boise State during the offseason. The Raiders moved him to linebacker before releasing him early in training camp.

Harris was brought back Monday for a second stint with the Raiders that didn't last long. Harris was a first-round draft pick by the Raiders in 2002 before being traded to the Minnesota Vikings in the deal that brought Randy Moss to Oakland in 2005.
