Williams, Smith rested after injuries in Bills' win over Jags

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills defensive lineman Kyle Williams and wide receiver Brad Smith were held out of practice Monday for precautionary reasons related to injuries.

Bills coach Chan Gailey said Smith twisted his foot, but he didn't specify the nature of Williams' injury. It was the Bills' first practice since a 35-32 overtime preseason victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday.

Both players were hurt in the game, but they didn't miss any time. Williams had one sack and three tackles. Smith had four carries for 19 yards, and he also threw an incomplete pass.

It's unclear if either will play in Thursday night's preseason finale against the Detroit Lions.

Wide receivers Roscoe Parrish (hamstring) and Donald Jones (head), and running back Johnny White (head) returned to practice. Parrish expects to be ready for the Sept. 11 season opener at Kansas City.
