When drafting QBs, note the stadiums they play in down the stretch

Getting Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner in the 10th round looked like the steal of my draft last year. Warner was a fantasy MVP all season... until Week 16 -- championship Sunday in most fantasy leagues.

A blizzard in New England, the Patriots defense and a poor decision to start Warner -- against my better judgment -- cost me the title. My philosphy was to not take big risks, even if Warner was coming off a shaky start in Week 15 against the Vikings. Stick with what got you there.

You can inscribe that on my fantasy tombstone. Start backup Eli Manning and I win a title. Instead, I was hoisted on Warner's petard.

But a valuable lesson was learned: The schedules of top-tier fantasy quarterbacks -- specifically where and what type of stadium they will be playing in down the stretch -- can make or break a fantasy season.

Breaking down schedules and opponents is an important part of any draft preparation, but it's not an exact science. Many variables, including injuries and coaching changes, can also alter that forecast. The one thing we do know is where teams will be playing from week to week.

With that in mind, and with the help of NFL.com's interactive regular-season schedule, here are the outlooks for some of the top fantasy field generals, based on the stadiums they'll be playing in. The results changed the way I ranked my quarterbacks -- and they could change the way you rank the position, too.
