What you need to know about Week 14's injury report

The Indianapolis Colts will venture into Cleveland minus their top cornerback.

Coach Chuck Pagano told reporters Friday that Vontae Davis has been ruled out for Sunday's game with the Browns after missing his third straight practice on Friday with the concussion he suffered last week against the Redskins.

Defensive coordinator Greg Manusky said Thursday that he believed Davis would play, but without him the Colts will lean on Darius Butler across from Greg Toler.

It's a boost for Brian Hoyer and the Browns, who will look to unleash wideout Josh Gordon in a must-win game for Cleveland. Stopping Andrew Luck and Indy's high-octane passing game is another story.

Here's what else you need to know about Friday's injury report:

  1. Also from Indy: After promising to jump into the Dawg Pound if he scores against the Browns on Sunday, return man Josh Cribbs returned to practice Friday after missing the past two days with a knee injury.
  1. We don't expect Redskins wideout DeSean Jackson to play against the Rams after missing his third straight practice with the fibula contusion he suffered against the Colts on Sunday; however, he is officially questionable, as is defensive end Jason Hatcher (knee).
  1. Cardinals coach Bruce Arians announced that Andre Ellington and Tyrann Mathieu will miss Arizona's contest against the Chiefs, while wideout Larry Fitzgerald will be a game-time decision and is questionable with a knee injury, as is offensive tackle Jared Veldheer and his ankle.
  1. Another week, another questionable tag for Broncos tight end Julius Thomas and his ankle. Joining him as a maybe against the Bills is run-stuffer Terrance Knighton (elbow). Cornerback Kayvon Webster (shoulder) will skip the contest.
  1. Reggie Bush may finally return this week. The Lions' running back is probable after missing the last three games with ankle and back injuries.
  1. Browns tight end Jordan Cameron practiced again on Friday after missing the past five weeks with a concussion. He's questionable for Sunday but has only been cleared for light contact. Also joining Cameron as questionable: Jabaal Sheard (foot), Karlos Dansby (knee) and Isaiah Crowell (hip).

Tight end Gary Barnidge missed practice with banged-up ribs and is officially out.

  1. For the Panthers, tight end Greg Olsen (knee) is listed as questionable, but coach Ron Rivera told reporters that he feels good about the pass-catcher's chances of playing Sunday against the Saints. Rivera also ruled out running back DeAngelo Williams, noting that Jonathan Stewart will start in his place.
  1. For New Orleans, as coach Sean Payton alluded to earlier this week, runner Khiry Robinson makes his return from a forearm injury -- he's probable.
  1. Bengals defensive tackle Domata Peko returned to practice ahead of Sunday's Steelers tilt after missing the past two days with an elbow injury.
  1. The Steelers listed James Harrison as doubtful with a knee injury. But some good news for Pittsburgh: Rookie linebacker Ryan Shazier (ankle), who's missed the last three games, is probable.
  1. Giants running back Rashad Jennings is questionable with an ankle injury. He was a limited participant during Friday's session.
  1. Zach Mettenberger (right shoulder) practiced Friday and is questionable for Sunday against the Giants.
  1. Jerick McKinnon (low back) will still be out for the Vikings, whereas rookie linebacker Anthony Barr is doubtful with a knee injury.
  1. The Jets will miss Jace Amaro (concussion) and Muhammad Wilkerson (toe) -- they're both out.
  1. The Ravens listed running back Justin Forsett as questionable with a knee injury against the Dolphins. However, Torrey Smith, who only practiced in full on Friday, is probable with a knee injury.
  1. Meanwhile, Miami has a slew of names on their report. Cornerback Jamar Taylor (shoulder) is out; fellow CB Cortland Finnegan (ankle) is doubtful; and tight end Charles Clay (hamstring) is questionable.
  1. Lavonte David (hamstring), Bobby Rainey (ankle) and Austin Seferian-Jenkins (back) are all questionable for the Buccaneers.
  1. Niners coach Jim Harbaugh said that right tackle Anthony Davis (concussion) will not be available Sunday against the Raiders. Tramaine Brock (hamstring) is listed as questionable. But the team doesn't expect the cornerback to play.
  1. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll confirmed that center Max Unger (ankle) won't play Sunday against the Eagles. Tight end Cooper Helfet (ankle) is doubtful and cornerback Jeremy Lane (glute) is listed as probable.
  1. Electric Raiders RB Latavius Murray (concussion) is probable for the Bay Area battle.
  1. The Patriots hope to see pass rusher Chandler Jones return against the Bolts -- he's questionable with his hip injury. Wideouts Julian Edelman (thigh) and Brandon LaFell (shoulder) are also questionable, as is running back Shane Vereen (ankle).
  1. Linebacker Donald Butler (quad) and tackle D.J. Fluker (concussion) are both listed as questionable for the Chargers on Sunday.
  1. Falcons receiver Roddy White (ankle) has missed two straight practices. He did not play last week.
  1. On Saturday, Packers coach Mike McCarthy said that cornerback Sam Shields is questionable with a concussion, but the team isn't ruling out the possibility that Shields could play Sunday.
  1. Redskins inside linebacker Kennan Robinson is out for Sunday's game due to a sprained MCL, per The Washington Times.
