What to expect from Wednesday's owners meetings

NFL owners will convene in Dallas on Wednesday for a series of meetings, and while the gathering is not expected to produce any votes or significant news on the future of the league in Los Angeles, there should be some important tidbits that will affect game play and front office flexibility moving forward.

Via NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, here are some of the items on the docket:

The trading of compensatory picks will obviously have the most significant impact and there are some general managers and coaches who have been waiting for this opportunity for years. Like Patriots coach Bill Belichick, there are others around the league who covet compensatory selections and could now have far more power when it comes to using them.

The tampering window is significant, too. Free agency is difficult for football players, perhaps more so than any other sport where scheme fit does not play as much of a factor. Impulsive decisions are made and now there could be less time for players to have another voice in their ear.

Around The NFL will have updates on the owner's meetings throughout the week.
