Webb said he has worked out with Brett Favre the past few weeks in Hattiesburg, Miss., and he's happy to learn from the 41-year-old quarterback who holds most of the NFL's passing records.
"It's great to have a person like that as my contact," Webb told the University of Alabama-Birmingham website for a Wednesday story. "He can still sling it."
Webb, a sixth-round draft pick out of UAB last year, started the Vikings' final two games last season, but he shouldn't face any competition for the job from Favre, who filed his retirement papers in January. Favre's brother and mother said last week that they believe the quarterback is done with his NFL career and won't come out of retirement for a third time.
"I just want to show the world what I can do," said Webb, who completed 54 of 89 passes for 477 yards with three interceptions last season.
