Washington Redskins sign kicker Neil Rackers, backup LB

The Washington Redskins have signed free-agent kicker Neil Rackers, the team said on Monday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. It had been reported last week that the Redskins and the 12-year veteran had agreed on a one-year deal.

Rackers kicked for the Houston Texans the past two seasons and also has played for the Arizona Cardinals and Cincinnati Bengals. He is a career 80 percent field goal kicker.

The Redskins also announced the signing of linebacker Jonathan Goff. The former New York Giant will compete with Lorenzo Alexander, Bryan Kehl and rookie Keenan Robinson for a spot at back-up inside linebacker.
