Von Miller: 'I'm going to be a Denver Bronco for life'

No one seems worried about Von Miller eventually getting a massive, and potentially record-setting, long-term contract.

Whenever broached on the subject, general manager John Elway exudes confidence a deal will get done in time.

Likewise, Miller isn't fretting, telling a crowd during a promotional event on Wednesday he isn't going anywhere.

"I'm going to be here in Denver no matter what," Miller said, per The Denver Post. "The contract is going to take care of itself. I'm going to be a Denver Bronco for life."

Elway, for what it's worth, feels the same about the Super Bowl 50 MVP.

"We want Von to be a Bronco for life, too," Elway told KDSP-AM.

Miller still won't be showing up for voluntary workouts. Not only is he not under contract -- he hasn't signed the franchise tag yet -- the pass rusher is heading to Las Vegas this weekend as a Mother's Day gift to his mom.

The sides have until July 15 to hammer out a new deal that will make Miller one of the top -- if not the top -- paid defensive players in the NFL. Deadlines spur action, so sitting months away from the deadline, Miller, the Broncos and Denver fans needn't worry. The Broncos have been through protracted contract negotiations with tagged players recently in Ryan Clady and Demaryius Thomas. They both worked out. Miller's deal will as well, eventually.
